Company Profiles in Ivo

Last updated: March 12, 2026

A Company Profile is where you store key information about your business, allowing Ivo to provide more relevant and consistent responses across the platform.

It helps Ivo understand who your company is, what kind of agreements you work with, what rules or regulations matter to you, and how cautious your team wants to be during review.

Some companies only need one profile. Larger organizations may need several, for example, if they have different subsidiaries, regional teams, or business units.

What is included in the Details section?

The Details section includes the main information Ivo uses to understand your company and apply that context across the platform. Each field helps Ivo give responses that are more relevant to your business, contracts, and review preferences.

Description

Use this field to describe what your company does and give Ivo important background about your business.

This should include what you sell or provide, who you contract with, and the role you most often play in agreements, such as vendor, customer, service provider, or buyer. The more clearly you describe your business, the better Ivo can tailor its responses to meet your needs.

Examples:

  • We are a SaaS company selling B2B software to enterprise customers. We typically act as the vendor or service provider in our agreements.

  • We are a global food delivery platform operating in multiple jurisdictions. Our agreements include retailer, driver, and merchant contracts.

  • We are an asset management firm regulated under FINRA. We act as both buyer and seller across a range of financial services agreements.

Address

Use this field to enter your company’s business address.

This helps provide location context for your organization and may be useful when reviewing agreements that refer to company details, legal entities, or location-specific requirements. This should match the main address you want associated with the profile. If your organization uses different legal entities in different regions, you may want separate profiles for each one.

Industry

Use this field to select the industry your company operates in.

This helps Ivo better understand the type of business you are in and the kinds of issues that may be more relevant in your contracts. For example, a healthcare company may care more about patient data and regulatory language, while a SaaS company may focus more on service levels, data use, and intellectual property.

Choose the industry that best matches your company so Ivo can better identify the contract issues most likely to matter to your business.

Number of employees

Use this field to select the size of your company based on employee count.

This gives Ivo more business context. For example, a smaller startup may have a different approach to risk than a large enterprise with a more formal legal process.

Choose the employee range that best reflects your company size.

EU customers

Use this field to indicate whether your company has customers in the European Union.

This helps Ivo understand whether EU-related legal and privacy considerations may be relevant, especially around personal data, consumer rights, and cross-border compliance.

If the answer is yes, Ivo may place greater importance on terms related to privacy, data processing, and EU compliance obligations.

Regulations

Use this field to list the laws, regulations, or compliance frameworks that matter to your business, such as GDPR, HIPAA, SOX, or CCPA.

This helps Ivo take regulatory requirements into account when reviewing, summarizing, or drafting agreements.

Examples:

  • GDPR

  • CCPA

  • HIPAA

  • SOC 2

  • SOX

  • FedRAMP

  • PCI-DSS

You can also add more detail, such as:

As a healthcare data processor, our agreements must include appropriate data processing terms and comply with HIPAA Business Associate Agreement requirements.

Risk Tolerance

Use this field to set your company’s general approach to legal and commercial risk.

This is especially helpful for teams that want a shared starting point for contract review. It can help create more consistency across reviewers and give junior team members a clearer baseline to follow.

Be clear about the positions your company usually accepts or does not accept.

Examples:

  • We do not accept one-way indemnities. Our standard position is mutual limitation of liability capped at 1x annual contract value.

  • We take a conservative approach to intellectual property ownership. All work product created under our agreements must belong to us.

  • As a scaling startup, we are more flexible on limitation of liability caps, but we are firm on intellectual property and data privacy terms.

Additional Information

Use this field to add anything else Ivo should know about how your team works.

This is a good place to include drafting preferences, preferred terminology, internal standards, or specific instructions you want Ivo to keep in mind.

Examples:

  • We always capitalize defined terms. Avoid overly formal legal language when redlining. Focus on plain-English summaries.

  • We prefer “Service Provider” over “Vendor” in our agreements.

  • Our standard governing law is Delaware. Flag any deviation.

  • We operate across LATAM markets. Pay close attention to local law compliance clauses and affiliate references.

How does the Company Profile affect reviews?

The Company Profile helps guide how Ivo works across several features.

Ivo Flags

Ivo uses the Company Profile to decide whether certain flagged terms or provisions are important based on your business, your industry, and your risk approach.

Ask / Assistant

When using Ask or Assistant, Ivo uses the Company Profile to give responses that are more relevant to your company and your legal context.

Party identification

The Company Profile, together with the Entities section, helps Ivo identify which party in the contract is yours. This improves accuracy across contract review.

Best practices

  • Create separate profiles when different teams, entities, or regions need different contexts.

  • Use the Company Profile for broad company background and preferences, and use playbooks for clause-specific guidance.

  • When setting up the repository, make sure your entities are entered correctly in the Company Profile. Ivo uses this information to identify which party is yours in a contract.

Summary

The Details section helps Ivo understand your business, your legal and regulatory context, and your team’s preferred approach to review.

The more accurately your Company Profile is set up, the more useful and consistent Ivo will be across flags, assistant responses, and party identification.
