When you click the Ivo add-in within Microsoft Word, you'll be asked to select a Playbook. For using Ivo with a custom Playbook, please refer to our Using Ivo with Custom Playbooks article.

Alternatively, if you don't have any custom Playbooks or if your Playbooks aren't appropriate for the contract you're reviewing, you have two options:

  • Option 1: Use Ivo without a Playbook. You can still use Ivo without a Playbook to review agreements for generic issues. Select Skip to continue without a Playbook.

If you Skip selecting a Playbook, you will only have access to the Modify, Ask, Review, and Summary features. If you do select either a custom playbook or an Ivo Playbook, you will also have access to the Clause Library features.

  • Option 2: Use an Ivo Playbook. Select a Playbook from the Ivo Playbooks tab to use a prebuilt Ivo Playbook.

Once you've selected an Ivo Playbook or skipped selecting a Playbook, and identified the contract's defined parties, you will then be ready to utilize Ivo's features.
