Box
Last updated: October 15, 2026
The Box integration connects Ivo Flow to your Box account so workflows can read from and write to Box folders. It does not require a preliminary Setup phase. Once a Flow admin approves the integration for the workspace, any member can install it immediately using one of three methods:
User Authentication: sign in with your own Box account. The connection sees exactly the folders and files you can already access in Box.
Server Authentication (Client Credentials) or Server Authentication (JWT): connect through a dedicated Box Service Account instead of an individual user. This requires a Box app that a Box Admin has authorized. The Service Account must also be invited as a Viewer or Editor to each folder Ivo should access, so the connection sees only the folders shared with it.
Installations are private to the person who created them by default. The owner can share an installation with the whole workspace, which lets other members build workflows on it, back to private, which disables any workflows other members had built on it. Once connected, workflows or switch it list files, download documents along with their Box metadata, upload document, and sync entire folders into an Ivo room while preserving folder structure.
Ensure Box integration is available
On the Admin tab, confirm that Box is available and ready to use in your workspace. If the Box integration hasn't been approved, click the ellipsis and select Approve. If it isn’t listed, contact the Ivo team.

Install the Box integration
On the Accounts tab, click + Connect, install Box, select the connection type you would like to use from the list, and click Create.

Set up the Connection
Note: For this walkthrough, User Authentication (OAuth 2.0) has been selected. In the pop-up window, log in to the Box account you want to sync from and click Grant Access to Box.

Check the Integration Created
Go to the Accounts tab under Flow and confirm that the connection you just created is listed.

Create the workflow from a template
On Workflows tab, click + Create Workflow to open the template gallery, which shows the workflow templates available to your team: for example, “Sync Box to Ivo Repository" and hit Install.

Set up Triggers
Workflows are started by triggers. Your new workflow comes with the template's default trigger; click Add Trigger to add other starting points (recurring schedule, manual, and so on) and edit each trigger to fit your needs.

Configure the Box step
Actions are where the work happens. Select the folders you want to sync from Box. Only folders you have access to will appear in the list.

Configure the Ivo and Route step
The template's Route action filters the files you need based on the conditions you set, and the Ivo action uploads the files from the previous step into your workspace. As with any action, select your Ivo connection, adjust the settings as needed, and choose the destination room, or create a new room to receive the files.
